1. Agreement and access
Acceptance through use. When you browse, access, or otherwise use Film Mosaic, you indicate that you accept these Terms and Conditions and any applicable law. These are website-use terms for an editorial film and media-guide publication. They are not terms for a gambling, streaming, cinema-ticketing, membership, purchase, or account-registration service. If these terms are not acceptable to you, please do not continue to use the website or rely on its material.
Availability and updates. Film Mosaic aims to keep the website useful and accessible, but the site, its structure, and its editorial material may be changed, paused, updated, or removed over time. We do not promise uninterrupted access or that every page will remain available in the same form. If these terms are revised, the updated version will be posted on this page with its revised effective date. This version is effective from 20 September 2026.
2. Editorial purpose and information limits
Editorial—not operational—content. Film Mosaic publishes independent commentary, reviews, criticism, analysis, production trivia, screenplay discussion, technical-realism observations, watchlists, galleries, and media-guide material for cultural and informational purposes. We examine casino cinema, high-stakes gambling plots, crime thrillers, heist narratives, psychological drama, and cinema culture as screen subjects. References to gambling in films are part of criticism and media analysis only; they are not instructions, endorsements, or encouragement to gamble.
Film culture, examined—not wagering encouraged.
No guarantee of completeness or suitability. Reviews and opinions are editorial judgments. Information may be subjective, incomplete, interpreted differently by another viewer, or become outdated as films, editions, and industry information change. Use your own judgment when deciding what to watch, rent, buy, stream, or discuss. Film Mosaic does not provide legal, financial, medical, professional, or technical advice. Our technical realism audits are interpretive editorial analysis, not certification, training, or professional instruction.
New Zealand availability context. References to New Zealand streaming, 4K, rental, broadcast, physical-media, or cinema availability are informational snapshots. Availability may vary by title, provider, format, region, rights window, and time, and may include different prices or access conditions outside Film Mosaic. We do not promise that a title will be accessible when you look for it. Please verify current local availability directly with the relevant provider or directory before making a viewing decision.
Practical note Streaming and physical-media discovery information can change quickly, particularly when local rights windows move.
3. Acceptable use
Please use Film Mosaic lawfully and respectfully, without interfering with other visitors’ use of the website or its ordinary operation. In particular, you must not attempt to disrupt, overload, probe, or gain unauthorised access to the site or systems connected with it. We use plain language here: normal reading and lawful browsing are welcome; misuse that risks the site, its readers, or its editorial work is not.
- No deceptive or harmful conduct. Do not impersonate another person, make misleading claims of affiliation with Film Mosaic, post or communicate unlawful material through any available route, harass others, or use the site in a way that infringes another person’s rights. You must not represent Film Mosaic as endorsing your activity without permission.
- No interference or unauthorised access. Do not seek to bypass access controls, test vulnerabilities without permission, introduce harmful code, or take action that impairs the site’s security, availability, or ordinary functionality. This does not require you to understand technical systems; it asks you not to interfere with them.
- No systematic copying or scraping. Do not systematically copy, scrape, harvest, reproduce, or commercially exploit Film Mosaic content except where law permits or Film Mosaic has given permission. Ordinary browser access and lawful quotation remain subject to the intellectual-property principles below.
- No misuse of editorial context. Do not remove context from reviews, guides, or analyses in a way that falsely suggests Film Mosaic has made a claim it did not make. Links to public pages may be shared, but copying substantial portions of editorial work or presenting it as your own is not permitted.
4. Intellectual property and fair quotation
Film Mosaic editorial material. The original editorial text, site design, selection, arrangement, and other original material published by Film Mosaic are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. You may read public pages for personal, non-commercial purposes and share links to them. Reproduction beyond lawful exceptions requires permission from Film Mosaic. This statement does not claim ownership of every item displayed on the site, particularly material connected with films and other third-party works.
Rights notice
Third-party film rights. Movie titles, stills, posters, character names, trademarks, logos, and related rights shown or discussed on Film Mosaic may belong to their respective owners. Their appearance in editorial context does not mean Film Mosaic owns them, is affiliated with them, or is sponsored or endorsed by a studio, streaming service, production company, or gaming establishment. We do not make claims here about licences, clearances, or the legal status of any particular third-party item.
Quotations and attribution. Where lawful, short quotations from Film Mosaic material should be clearly attributed and linked back to the relevant public page where practical. Attribution does not itself grant permission to reproduce substantial portions of an article, guide, or other work. A useful reference format is:
Source: Film Mosaic, [article title], filmmosaic.com
5. Third-party links and availability
Independent external services. Film Mosaic may link to third-party websites for convenience and discovery. We do not control their content, availability, policies, security, or services. Your use of a third-party website is governed by that website’s own terms and privacy practices. A link from Film Mosaic is not a promise that a listing is current, nor is it an endorsement, sponsorship, or guarantee of the external service or anything it provides.
JustWatch New Zealand directory. JustWatch NZ is an independent external directory that visitors may use to check current New Zealand streaming and cinema availability. Film Mosaic does not control the information displayed there and does not sell, stream, rent, or ticket films. Titles, formats, regions, prices, provider information, and availability can change. Check the directory and the relevant provider directly before relying on a listing.
6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
As-is editorial access. To the extent permitted by law, Film Mosaic provides its website and editorial material on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee that content will always be accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. The editorial and availability limits described elsewhere in these terms continue to apply; this clause does not replace the need to assess a review, guide, or external listing in its proper context.
Visitor decisions. You remain responsible for your own decisions after using Film Mosaic, including decisions about viewing, purchasing, renting, streaming, or visiting external services. Our New Zealand streaming and 4K media guides are intended to support discovery, not replace your own checks. Film Mosaic is not responsible for third-party availability, provider terms, access requirements, prices, or changes that occur after editorial material has been published.
Extent of limitation. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Film Mosaic will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the website, its editorial material, or linked external services. Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude rights or protections that cannot lawfully be excluded. This limitation is designed to reflect the site’s role as an independent editorial and media-discovery resource, rather than a provider of third-party services.
In plain language: use the site as a thoughtful source for film discovery, then make your own checks before acting on information elsewhere.
7. Governing law and changes
New Zealand legal context. These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, subject to any mandatory laws that may apply to a visitor’s use of the site. This reflects Film Mosaic’s New Zealand focus and its regional media-guide coverage while recognising that readers may visit from elsewhere. No specific court, city, tribunal, or exclusive-jurisdiction arrangement is created by this statement.
Future revisions. Film Mosaic may update these terms from time to time. When a revised version is posted, we will show its revised effective date on this page. Continued use of the site after an updated version is posted indicates acceptance of the revised terms. For this version, see the effective date: 20 September 2026. We do not promise email alerts, change logs, version archives, or advance notice of every update.
